Nothing makes me more upset than making plans and then having them fall through because someone (or multiple someones) can't commit! Not to mention the
This weekend was full of things to do, then just in a couple of hours it was all gone.
One, was expected. RAIN! In TEXAS!! We need the sun back soon; I miss Mr. Sun. We had originally planned a camping trip. A trip that I've been trying to convince my husband to go on since I've known him (7+ years). But, alas, the rain has continued to ruin those plans. We kept having to reschedule, today, though, he eventually cancelled due to our busy schedules these next few weekends. BOOO. No camping any time soon.
Then, I planned Sunday mass, lunch, and birthday celebrations with my family for my daddy's birthday. Ok, so yes we live about an hour from my parents, and yes our Sunday mass is at 10 am, but really? Is it that bad? It's only one day out of the year! I extended an invitation and idea to my parents last week for this very celebration. An invitation/idea at that time. Come Tuesday, the invitation/idea was accepted. Ok! Full wheels in motion. Lets plan this. And so, I did. Had the time frame done, let my husband know (so that we could budget that into our expenses) and ordered a cake. I am very much about planning way ahead of time. Well then, last night I extended the invitation to my sisters. Again, I live about an hour out, so immediately "We'll see, you live too far." But hey, my parents were able to come so it was ok. This was, after-all, a celebration for my daddy. Well then today, while talking to my mom, turns out they went back on their plans. "It's too early. It's too far away. Your sisters want to come here instead to spend the day here. They've been asking me what we are doing."
Wait... when and who asked?
"Oh, well ---- asked last night and ---- this morning."
Hello!! I had asked since last week, there were no plans so I came up with the idea, but whatever, continue. Wait... what time yesterday?
"Yesterday night."
Yesterday night? After I had extended the invite? Really? Hmmm fishy? Yea, most definitely! How dare you ask after I already told you the plan/idea/invitation?!? How dare you ask as though you've been thinking about this for a while now and it had just slipped your mind?
But, yeah, needless to say, apparently my hospitality isn't needed, nor is the cake that has been ordered. Don't know if I am in the right to be upset, but I am. Backing out of plans for this reason? Whatever, I'm done with this entry. Family, hmph, right.
